December 11, 2013 One More Week

Hey mom, Dad
I have one more week before the end of my mission.  I have seen the hand of the lord so much over the past two years.  I dont think that I could ask for more from him.  I have seen the differences that his atonement has made in my life.  I had the oppurtunity to bear my testimony on monday to my zone before I went home, to really leave something with them.  I think overall my testimony has defintely grown.  There have been a few ways specifically, well a few things that my testimony has grown in.  I know with my whole heart that the priesthood is real.  I have seen the blessings given to me and given by me to other people and the words that come out are not mine.  They come directly from our loving heavenly father.  I have found that there is no other way to reach the Celestial kingdom than by following the principles of the gospel.  And the main point that keeps the people on the right track is the Book of Mormon.  I have read the book of mormon so many times on my mission and really studied the doctorine and I have found the truthfulness for myself, time and time again.  I know that Joseph Smith said right, that a man will grow closer to god Through the Book of Mormon than any other book in the world.  That is something that I tell people and they criticize me for it, but I know that its true.  I know that there is no better book on the earth that can help you come closer to Christ.  I have tried it, I have grown so much closer to god, reading that book and putting in practice the things that I have learned.  I have seen the people change as well...not just me, and that is the best part.  I know that it is a true book from God.  Bringing me to another point, Prayer is the phone for us to speak with our heavenly father.  I have had some great talks with him.  I have really poured out my heart to him, and I know that he speaks with us.  I have recieved much revelation personal for my life, and what I should do with it.  My patriarchal blessing is my best friend.  I love reading it, and trying to get something more from it.  God really does love us. That is something that I have come to know.  I now have an extremely testimony of all the things that we were weak before.  But most of all, I know the Atonement was for us.  That Christ really suffered for us.  So that we can overcome our problems, sins and weaknesses.  I am so grateful for that.  I could not ask for more.

I love you guys.  This is it.

December 4, 2013 14 Days

Hey everybody.  Things are just going great.  We have been doing a lot of work and we are still seeing some good growth here in Pavia.  I bet you all are wondering what is giong on with Thanksgiving here in Italy.  Well, to be honest..nothing.  They dont celebrate it.  But our ward set up a surprise Thanksgiving party for us.  And it was awesome.  We had so much food and there was good company.  It was a good way to spend Thanksgiving here in the mission field.  I am getting ready to come home.  To be honest with you.  I am really excited to see every one.  Its going to be such a great time.  I have loved my mission.  And I have learned so much.

Right now, we have taken a little blow.  Our baptismal dates have all been missing church and not been struggling.  One of them dropped us for being too nervous for his date and being baptized.  I hope that we can help him out before he drops us, but he is really enjoying the church and growing his testimony.  I know that he will be baptized.  All of us need time though.

Love you guys.  I cant wait to see you soon.

November 20, 2013 GREAT BIRTHDAY

Hey everyone

So yes, I had a great birthday.  This tuesday we did a lot of good work and we actually set a baptismal date.  We went and had some good times with our new converts and then we came home and had some cake and i got some letters in the mail.  i didnt expect it, so that was good.  Little surprises, make the day go better.  It was great.

Actually things are going great in Pavia.  We are teaching a lot and we are baptizing as well.  YEAH MAN!!  This week we are having another baptism.  Francesco has been working really hard to get to his date, and he did it.  He si great and we are really going to have a great Saturday.  its also cool because the president of the sunday school is coming to our mission and giving us a training on Saturday in the mornign.  Cool .

So I am nearing the end of my mission as you all probably know.  And to be honest with you, I am feeling really good.  I am working really hard and doing all that we can to get more investigators.  Its a lot of fun.

Things are great.  Sorry I suck at writing.

November 13, 2013 HELLO THERE

Well there it is.  Another week gone.  I am doing really well.  I am still working really hard and we are doing a lot of good work.  Then we are baptizing this weekend.  What a miracle.  We have been working pretty hard with a guy named Adeglio, that is the husband of Gladys that was baptized a couple of weeks ago.

We were able to set a baptismal date with him for the 14th of December.  It was great.  But then before we left, he said, " Hey I want to get baptized this Saturday.  In the end, its better for all of us."  Sweet.  So he is going to be baptized this Saturday.  That was a super funny and awesome miracle.  We should be baptizing him and then things are good.  It was just super cool that he knew that he needed to get baptized and then we were able to set it up.

Other than that, our other baptismal for next week is doing wonderful.  he hasnt smoked for the past 2 days.  He is doing great. and he will be baptized this next week.  SWEET!!  A couple baptisms to finsih the mission.  that is great.  Dont you think.

I am doing well.  I hope taht you know.  I love you guys.  Have a good week.

October 16, 2013 GOOD AFTERNOON

How is everyone doing.

So transfers have come and gone.  I am sadly leaving Genova.  I really am going to miss these people here.  I really know that I could have stayed till the end, but I am moving on.  Great.  I am going to Pavia.  Its going to be a good time.  I am going to be district leader and I am happy about that.  Finally something to do. Something to keep things going.  I am glad that I am getting the opportunity to have some responsibility again.  Its good.

We taught some pretty good lessons this week.  Nothing really to some new investigators because we are having hard time finding some here but that is okay. The ones we did teach, we had members there.  It was awesome.  I am glad that they were there.  They actually brought their friends.

Time to do some work.  I miss you guys.  Just nothing really happened this week.  I will tell you some good stuff next week.

Love you guys

October 9, 2013 WEEK 11!!!

Hey everyone

Things are good here in Genova.  We have had a good time here with the members and as missionaries. We are trying to start a brand new wave of member missionary work.  I know that its more than just 2 missionaries, but I think that we can start someting good.  I just loved General Conference.  Once again, we had amazing talks coming from every which way.  I loved Hollands.  I loved Uchtdorfs. and you cant go wrong with the prophet.  Things are good.  Got some answers...and I am definitely happy with it.

We are getting close here to transfers, its next week.  We will see what happens.  I am almost 100% sure I am gone.  I am in Genova now for the most time, other than one other missionary.  He has been here for 9 months.  FUN!!  Anziano Gibbons, good guy, same group.  We are riding home together.

I just want to say thanks to everyone for the thngs that you all do.  YOu are great.  Just letting you know.

Love you all

October 2, 2013

So this week had its ups and downs.  It wasnt like super awesome, but we did have some cool stuff.  our investigator just kinda fell off, we didnt hear from him at all and so he is just kinda wash right now.  The other day though we had an awesome lesson with some guy that we founnd in Area Book.  It was the most interesting and fulfilling lesson that I have ever taught.  We talked about a lot of things, and i realized early that he was very smart, and he needed something more than a very simple lesson, somthing to really tick his brain and get the spirit working in him.  Sometimes there are the people that need that.  So when i was teaching about the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ, I talked about his baptism and how important it was that he went to John the Baptist, (authority) and we spent a little time, discussing that.  We cleared up all that and went on with the lesson.  i didnt know why it was such a huge thing that spirit wanted me to teach that.  As we continued talking, we got to the bap invite and i invited.  That is why.  He was trying to reason himself out of it, but in fact, the way that he was thinking reasoned himself right into it.  He knew that he needed to accept, and the spirit was super storng telling him...and then right before he said yes...ring ring.  The phone went off, and he was out.  He answered it and started to talk and such.  Its okay.  next time he will accept.

Other than that, we are doing well.  we are just chugging forward with our work. Doing all that we can.  That is what the lord asks, and that is what I have to give.

I hope all is well.  I love you guys

September 18, 2013 WEEK 14

Good Morning everyone

Its Anziano Treadway here in Genova.  I hope that everyone is doing great.  I am doing great.  i am pretty tired but that doesnt change that we have been working super hard trying to baptize.  We have been working with some people trying to help them out.  We are happy with the things that are going on.  Unfortunately with some events, we have lost basically all of our investigators, and so we are starting from base 1.  Its okay.  we are going to keep working hard and see what we can do in the next 4 weeks.  Its game on.  I love this city and the members and everyone.  We are doing a lot of member work and getting innactive members into chruch again, and to me, that is also really important.  Because we cant just keep baptizing with out the other people that are running away you know.  I hope that we can see some success.  I am doing great.  I just wish that all of you are doing great.  Life is good.  Still training.  Erickson is good.  We are getting along great.  I miss you guys

September 13, 2013 What a Week!

Good afternoon everyone.

This week has just been one heck of a week.  BYU destroys TEXAS!! HAHAHAHAA!!!  Thats all that matters!!  Hahaha just kidding.  I havent changed in that aspect.  I still love when BYU wins.  So, what is new here.  Nothing really, no one in the apartment chagned, and my comp and I are getting along great.  We are working alongside eachother really well and we are finding new people and doing all that we can to see some miracles, and we are seeing them.  Our one kid is JUST BLOWING IT OUT OF THE WATER!  He is so awesome and reading every day and really seeing some miracles in the scriptures.  He just used some scriptures to text me this morning saying that he basically knows its true, oh that was the greatest feeling ever.  He is looking good, we are hoping that he gets things all settled for the next week, but we have somethings to do still.  I knwo that we are going to make it.  We prayed about that date, we know its right. Other than him, we are struggling, but he is really keeping me going.  I am loving working here in Genova.  I dont know if I am going to stay here for the rest of the mission, buit I would love to.  I really would love to stay here.  We will see what happens.  LIFE IS GOOD HERE; ITS GOOD THERE!!!  Love you guys.

September 4, 2013 Hey Y'all

I am here in Genova and not getting transferred.  YEAH!!  I am going to be here till the end.  ITs going to be good.  I just want to stay here.  Genova is the best.  We have been getting close to some really awesome people that are so close to baptism.  I know that we are going to see some this transfer.  I wouldnt be surprised if we see more that one.  We are doing all that we can, but our really awesome investigators all go to the other companionships...they all dont live in our area, or they are single women.  That is the frustrating part of being in a city with 12 missionaries, there isnt enough space.  I hope we can see some good success these next 6 weeks.

In church we gave a lesson about the law of chastity..it went really well.  ANd we got pretty dirty, dont worry, it was a shirt to throw away anyways..but we really helped to young men know that those kind of things really get us dirty and we dont want to get into that kind of stuff.  It was a good lesson.

RIght now, I am hitting a critical point...three months, and I am grooving...I am talking to lots of people, i hold the book of Mormon in my hand so that when I get rejected, I just squeeze the word of God.  That helps ease the pain.  Hahahah.  Things are great.  I miss you guys.

Hope all is well.

August 20, 2013 HEY YOU!!

So things are going great here in Italy.  I am nearing the end of my mission and that just makes me pump it up a little bit more.  We are doing a lot of Area Book and finding old investigators that just couldnt get baptized then and we are starting to teach them.  We found this girl, she was amazing, Cristina and she is just getting so prepared.  Right before we went to her House, she waas praying that the Mormons would come back to her house and now she has a baptismal date.  This is going so well.  i hope that the sisters can teach her well, because she is such a ready investigator!!!  We are meeting with some really cool less actives too, just trying to help them back into the church. We arent really having much success with getting people from stage one, of not knowing anything, and meeting them on the street, to stage two, where we get into their house for a meeting.  We are just trying to get them to step two.  I hope that it works.  I love what I am doing.  I am really excited for what is to come as I keep working hard.  I am trying to reach 5000 contacts before I come home. Its going to be a challenge, but I can do it.  I love you all and I am praying for you.

August 14, 2013 How Is It??

So I am here in Genova still with my companion.  I am having a great time again training.  We are having a lot of success with finding people.  He is doing a really good job just going out and doing the work.  We are finding a lot of people that are interested in the message.  Just as a little miracle, i have never had success with English Class, but finally someone wanted to know more.  He is 17 years old and he is awesome.  We are taking it slow with him, but he said that he would come to church so we got to hit on that.  Its going to be a fun time teaching him.  I hope that he takes to the message.  He is reading he Book Of Mormon as of now, so we are going to try to help him  forward.

Just a really cool story.  Two days ago, I needed to make some phone calls, and set some appointments up, so while we were in the park, i sat down, but I told my comp to go talk to a girl that was just sitting there on a bench.   I saw her and felt like we needed to talk to her, but I thought it would be a good oppurtunity for my comp, still in sight and sound, dont worry, but an oppurtunity to practice some italian.  It was great.  He went and started to talk to her and her boyfriend came over and started to listen and then they wanted to know more, so he got there phone number and we have an appointment with them.  To make it even better, the next day, same thing, I had to make calls and he went and talked to some guy and boom, another appointment.  YEAH!! My comp is just killing it out here.

things are going really well. We are working really hard and I feel like I have never been better.  I am reading Preach My Gospel daily and that is the key.  Just following that has been such a big help.

Love you guys

August 7, 2013 It's Really Hot!!!

You could be thinking that I am talking about the weather, and you are right, its really hot right now.  ANd I am just dripping always, and we played some basketball today with an investigator so we are just really dying right now.  I am really tired....its really hot.

And then if you want to know about the work...its really hot, and we are doing some really good work right now.  I have seen some of the coolest miracles lately, just striving to teach lessons and help people come unto christ.  I have seen a huge difference when we started to read Preach my Gospel again, just training,we do that kind of thing.  Yeah, but we are seeing some good miracles from it.  I hope that we are able to see some baptisms that could come from this stuff, this work that we are doing.  On Sunday we saw a good looking miracle, we got a cancellation and so being the good trainer I am, hahaha, i put on the big boy pants and we went to work, i knew that we were there for a reason and we needed to find the person.  About the last 5 minutes that we had, i told my comp to talk to some people, and he tried to stop some poeple, nothing and then last person, he asked her about her thoughts about the purpose of life, and nothing, but wait, she stopped in her tracks, turned around and said, WAIT WHAT did you say.  and i was like, NO WAY!!!!!  We started to talk to her and she was really having a hard time with some questions about her parents that had passed away about 30 years ago at the same time, leaving her alone and she wanted to know why...well we had some answers, and we began to tell her, and she told us to come back the next day.  We went and BOOM amazing lesson.  It was just a great lesson, we answered questions using the scriptures...key point.  And her husband said the prayer...yeah.  RIGHT AFTER, this guy stopped us at the bus stop and we started to talk to him and he asked about us, and we started to talk, he had some questions about life too,and things were just falling into our lapp....WOAH!  We are going to see both of them this weekend..AMAZING!  Its great.  I love God, he loves his children.

I love you guys.  God is a god of miracles.  Remember that

July 31, 2013 Ciao Tutti

Buon Giorno a tutti voi

I hope that every one is doing wonderful.  I am just great.  I love where I am right now and I love that I am working so hard.  Its really paying off in time, I know that.  We really arent teaching any solid people, there isnt much progress going on, but there are going to be some really great people getting into the baptismal font here sometime.  We are working on it.  My new companion Anziano Erickson is from Puyallup, Washington...I think that you served there dad, but I dont remember if that was one of your areas...you ever been there??  He is great.  We are having a great time together and we are working hard.  I dont think that there is any better way to train a missionary than to work him out of his shoes right in the beginning.  So that is what we are diong, we are hitting the streets, we are teaching people and we are trying our hardest to find some new people to teach.  I have got to say that this is probably one of the best cities to start in, and that is why there is always a bunch of missionaries that are doing it.  There are a few missionaries that just came in from California.  One from Gridley Ca and one from Red Bluff, CA...and I think that is Uncle Dee's stake, isnt it.  Hahaha small world.  I dont remember his name, but he is here.  But it was great to see all the new missionaries, and the old.  I was one of the oldest in the mission training, meaning, there were two people who had been in the mission longer that we training, out of 31 or something.  Mamma.  But I am having a great time.  I think that old investigators have to be some gold in the making, i have made some phone calls and have set up 9 appointments with potential investigators this week.  Its been awesome.  I hope that they all come through for me, and we are able to teach them.  Things are great here in Genova, here in Italy.  Love you guys

July 17, 2013 TRANSFERS

Good Morning everyone

Well the changes havent yet come from the mission, right, in the ipads and facebook, but they are coming in transfers.  I am going on to another companion.  My comp is going to bergamo to be zone leader, we just opened another zone there and in Ravenna, both cities that I served in.  Cool, but he is gone, unforrtunately.  But I am going to be training another new missionary.  I am excited to see what is going to happen and who I will get.  There are something like 28 new missionaies coming in.  That is a ton, we have one more wave after this and then it will calm down again, back to 12 coming in at a time.  That is good.  We have hit our peak.  I dont know what more we could do.  I knwo that I am going to work pretty hard with the new guy and see if he can hold on.  Its my time to do what I know, and have someone watch and learn.  Its going to be great fun.  Here is Genova, its been getting really hot.mamma mia.  And really humid.  That is okay though.  I am just sweating constantly.  I dont like it.  Its really uncomfortable, you remember that time that we went to Mexico and I was miserable...that is what I am talking about but every day.  Its really cool to be here next to the ocean.  I have seen some cool stuff here and on the other side of the mission.  Things are looking good, but the younger generation is coming and they are taking basically all the leadership postitions...that is fine.  They could use it.  I am just holding on.  hahhaa.  Things are great guys.  I hope that all is well there.  Love you all

July 10, 2013 Well Everyone...

well everyone

things are just going great here in Genova.  I couldnt be happier, I dont think.  I am jsut exstatic about the work and actually being able to talk to people and teach them about the gospel.  After the break, it was definitely time to get going and teach.  I had a good time.  As for my other companion, he went to Bergamo.  We had finished all the apartments, so they didnt need us.

here in Genova, i am having such a good time with my comps.  We all played baseball and we all love sports, we are all so much alike that thigns just clicked and we are all really hard working missionaries, the type to just get things done, you know?? Yeah well they put us all here in the same spot for a week and we almost set another 4 baptismal dates...so close, but they wouldnt budge for one inch.  But It was a great time.  Unfortunately, they are splitting us up for another emergency transfer.  So anziano Anderson will be going to prato and it will just be me an anzinao johnson.  It will be okay though.  We are both really old in the mission, and basically both hitting peak right now.  it will be interesting to see what we can do in three weeks time with the work here in Genova before the trainees arive.  I think that we are both training, that is just the pattern at this point, so welwill see what is happening.  As for that conference, it hasnt changed anything for us yet, other than the fact that we cant wear backpacks, so we have to go buy a man purse..."ITS A SATCHEL, INDIANO JONES WEARS ONE"  Okay so a side bag...it will be okay...only six months.  But I guess they are really nice for the bikes and everything.

I am on my way to cinque terre today.  SWEET!!

June 29, 2013 WEEK 3 ON THE JOB

Well what a week.  I think that this week passed faster than any of the others so far.  And its just getting quicker.  I guess, its not really week 3 but whatever, i will leave it like that.  This week, we went to Como and to Livorno to do apartments, and I am just beat.

In como we set up a new apartment with some of the funnest missionaries that I know.  We were up till 1 o clock though finishing everything because we needed to get it done before the next day, we have things to do.  Everything is going really well with the putting things together, I just know now that Ikea is the coolest place ever to buy some cheap furniture.  I should work for them when I get home just putting things together, because I can put together things super quick, without a problem.

Livorno, what a place, Bring San Diego and put it in Italy.  It was so nice to just smell the air and feel the breeze and see the water, and the sunset.  It was such a peaceful time.  We broke down their old apartment, that is the most fun part about this calling.  I love just kicking in old desks and just destroying it all.  I am really happy that I am doign this, AND I get to meet a lot of missionaries, AND I get to take some to the most beautiful drives ever.  Driving down to Livorno was along the beach and through the mountains of Emilia Romagna and Tuscany, (not the hills unfortunately).  Things went really well Until about 11 o clock when I went to sleep on the couch in the new apartment.  The previous owner was a cat lover and the way that things work here in Italy is when you move, you leave pretty much everything, so her cats I think LOVED the same couch that I slept on...and in the morning, I was asthma attack, not being able to open my eyes.  It was bad, I took 4 benadryl and got out of there as fast as possible.  It was really bad.

yesterday, President Dibb arrived.  That was pretty cool.  He seems really cool, havent been able to really sit down and talk to him yet, I dont think that I will have time for that for a while being that he is the president.  He has things to do, but I mean, he seems really cool.  And his wife is really nice. I am going to miss the Wolfgramms a ton, but I guess there are things that I have to learn from President Dibb.  That is how it works.  He has my full support.

As a final shout out....GEM!!!!  (grow every missionary, the mission battle cry)

June 22, 2013 Week 2 on the job

Ciao Tutti

This week was really fast.  I cant believe that it just flew the way that it did.  We were very busy the entire time so that was nice.  We had a lot of apartment stuff to do.  Monday we were here in Milano building a sisters apartment and putting in desks.  I will say, things have gotten super hot here, and the pores have opened up and now I am just dripping sweat like nothing.  Arms, legs, face, its like a rain forest.

Anyways, Tuesday we had a very cool conference.  It was the last of President Wolfgramm...he goes home next week.  That is weird, I never saw this day coming the way that it did.  Its just like he was here, and now its his time, and the thing is, its in the middle of a transfer, and so there is going to be really no, NATURAL break, if you know what i mean.  With missionaries going home, there is that type of 6 week period and you know that they are going home, but with this, its in the middle of this period and he goes home.  But the conference was great anyways.  We talked all about the restoration of the Gospel and the Book of Mormon.  Super cool conference.  At the end, he left us a blessing, and that was really sweet.  I am really going to miss him.  And Sister Wolfgramm.  They have been awesome mission parents.

Thursday and Friday this week we went back to Padova to finish up the work that was there.  Things went rather smoothly, we had to destroy the apartment inside and throw it all away, and then take on the garage that has just been packed full with stuff from the past 20 years.  Talk about a ton of junk.  We found alot of weird things.  Seriously...stuff that you would never guess.  Well maybe you would, but over like 20 rims for bike tires, 2 bike frames, 6 bikes, tons of tools that were useless, and then garbage for a while.  Yeah we did 2 dump runs, FULL dump runs, and the dump guy didnt let us go to the third one, he wouldnt let us in...what a jerk, because we had put too much stuff in the dump, lets think about that, I cant put garbage in the dump, because I already put too much...yeah that doesnt make sense.  So much for that.

That brings us to now, things are good, I am tired, I played basketball with President today.  that was a ton of fun, but I havent worked out like that for years...hahahhaa.

Love you guys

June 15, 2013 WEEK 1 ON THE JOB

Oh boy oh boy, talk about California Sheet Metal again.  I had forgotten How much I love doing manual labor with my hands.  Just getting down and doing things.  My hands have taken a hit, i felt so week after workign for 2 hours.  I have lost all of my callises, I think that is how you say it.  Anyways, its been fun.  For the past two days, we have been in 3 different cities and built a lot of things.  In Padova, we built everything for the entire apartment.  Beds, desks, chairs, wardrobes, everything and we are just beat.  And then we woke up this morning and drove to Trento, a beautiful city in the mountains.  Its was great, but we went there for business, and we built some more desks and chairs, and then destroyed another apartment, the old one, just broke everything.  Well, my emails are going to get more and more boring because i am going to be doing the same thing for the longest time, and I dont think that I will be able to be teaching anyone..Its going to be a strange transfer.  BUT MY COMP is SUPER FUN!  He is from Cali too so we are going to have a good time together.  It doesnt feel like its been 3 days, only like a couple hours.  And its a good thing that if I get frustrated, I will have somethign to do, like put up a cabinet or something. Dad, thanks for the letter, I just got it too...its awesome.  I love the pictures.  those are great ties.  wonder who planned that one.

Well love you guys.  Keep going

June 12, 2013 TRANSFERS......

Good afternoon everyone...
Well on Monday, I got a call from President Wolfgramm and I am going to be transfered.  I am going to be moved to Milano...the center, and I will be doing a particular assignment.  I am going to be a Traveling Assistant.  WOAH!  My job is basically to go around the entire mission and fix and construct, and find and do everything for apartments because right now we are getting a ton of new apartments.  So that is what I will be doing.  I will also be trying to find some time to do missionary work with the missionaries in their own cities, but for the next 6 weeks I am going to be doing a different side of missionary work.  Its going to be a big time change, but it will be very fun and very cool.  I will see a ton of the cities in the mission.  I am excited.  I am going to be serving with Anziano Moh, who I know pretty well.  I am excited to be with him.  He is super fun to hang out with, and be around, so that will be fun.  First comp from California.  YEAH!!

This week has been awesome.  I actually did a split with Anziano Moh on thursday ad we had a bunch of success.  We work well together with how we talk and teach and so its a great time.  I went to gorizia.   Horrible looking city..but its okay.  Then on Saturday, we did a missionary concert and we all sang and had a really good turn out.  It was just another way that we could do some missionary work, we needed to change something, so we had 12 missionaries come and perform and it went really well.  But sunday was just amazing. Sunday night, Anziano Russel M. Nelson the apostle came to the stake and did a fireside.  He had an amazing message to bring.  That the biggest most important message that we can bring is to follow the commandments of God.  How true that is.  He had some amazing thoughts and afterwards he shook the hand of everyone.  It was aweomse. It was really a wonderful time.  He remembered you Pops.  That was cool.  We got to take a picture with him, all the misisonaries.  It was sick.
Things are looking up. Its getting hot.  I am going to have a great week.  Love you all

June 5, 2013 IT'S POURING!!

Man so this week, we have been seing some great blessings.  I have been super hapy with the way that things are going.  We had a sick miracle.  On thursday we had planned to see an ex investigator, just past by and see what was up...and so we went and there was no one there and they didnt want to know anything when we called.  My back up plan was to do some tracting there in that area.  As we knocked...nothing was going...just another day, then the last door opened and a Filipina was sitting there and let us come in and we started to talk.  We talked about the family and then the daughter came in, perfect oppurtunity to help a family.  When we brought out the book of mormon, the mom confessed that she was a member of the church but hasnt come in a while because she has been working.  Come to find out, she was the same member that we have been looking for for the longest time, she had abbandoned her house and changed her phone number, but being that she hadnt come to church in a while, she didn tell the church...boom!! Found her and the family is interested, and so we are starting to work with them.  SWEET!  Then the next day we found 2 brothers that are here away from home, the are from Romania and so they have a family there are we talked to them about the Book of Mormon, and they were wanting to know more, we are going to see them on Friday.  And then sunday, we set up 4 return appointments.  The work is finally coming together.  Just in time for transfers, which are next week.  Which means letters...if you wanted to send me something, just send it to the office until I know where I am going, of if I am going, i will tell you next week.
Endurance has paid off.  "We trust in God and we go on"

Love you guys

May 29, 2013 ANOTHER ONE

The other was the GENERAL GENERAL one, this one is a little better.  Things are going well in Padova.  This sunday, I was sitting in church and the bishop had me come up to him during the opening hymn and he asked me to PRESENT myself, not to hard.  Then he asked, and as a good missionary, do you have a 10 minute talk read to give, we are missing someone...great...that is what I thought.  The answer I gave was of course yes...and so that was where my hurrying began.  I started immediately to prepare my talk on faith and having it be the most basic, yet most important part of our life and church.  I got up and gave my testimony and gave a great talk and really presented myself and who I am.  I made everyone laugh, and really got things going. I love the ward.  They are all super supportive. On saturday, we had a great service project and we collected a whole buunch of food for the needy.  It was a great week.  I really am enjoying my time here in Padova. From President, I got another assignment to find ANOTHER apartment but I have a week to find it.  This is goign to be a difficult one, but I know that I will be able to do it.  I am going to the city to find it, I basically am the new apartment finder for the misson apparently.  well, that is what the lord wants me to do.  Thanks for everything that you are doing.  You guys are getting awesome.
Love you
Ben

Hey everyone..things are going grea.t  We are having a good time here in Padova now.  The ward is awesome and they are really active in the missionary work, so its a big help to have them.  We have been doing a lot of less active member work and things are going greaT.  The lord really is on our side.  They are really happy to have us over and help them with their spirituality.  I know that what we are doing is a good thing.  Life is just moving like usual.  I dont know what I am doing, but it is going well.  I love Italy.  I love the people that I am working with.  The Italians are great.  Lets just say, they are really nice, and they are doing a lot of good things.  We are just there to help them do even BETTER things.  The church is true and I am so happy that I am representing it.  Being a missionary is an amazing experience.  The BOOK OF MORMON IS TRUE!  Love you guys

May 22, 2013 PADOVA

So I got transferred to Padova, but the address to my apartment hasnt changed.  I still live in the same place.  But anyways.  I am super happy that we are working in this city now.  Mestre was a personal hell for me, I just had so many hard times and things were just pushing and pushing and pushing me to the point of break.  But now that we are here in Padova, things are a lot better.  I am a whole lot more relaxed and I can breathe.  Its been a long time, a really hard, long, difficult period of time on my mission, but things are definitley different.  We are planning a really sweet concert for the 8th of June. Its going to be basically for the missionaries to get some referalls and hopefully it works out.  I know that things are going to go well.  We have some major talent in the district and zone so we are going to kill it.  We just need to do anything possible to keep the work going.  This could be something good. Anways, the ward is amazing.  The people are really happy to have another companionship to help with the work.  I am really happy to be that companionship.  We are working really hard.  I am really tired, but that is a good sign.

Love you all

Real quick.  Things have been difficult, but I just keep my head up and know that everything is going to be okay. Love will always find a way.  One of my favorite songs said that...found it on the mission.  Anyways, I know that all of you guys are doing great.  We had a really great mothers day.  We had a young 17 year old come to church for the first time in a while and surprised his mom.  She was bawling.  It was really touching, some of the best feelings on my mission.  Its great.  Other than that, I love Italy...time is flying.  Miss you guys

May 1, 2013 MESTRE

 Hey everyone,

I am still here serving in Mestre.  Transfers just passed and I thought that somehting was going to change, but Anziano Modugno and I are still together. I am really happy about that.  I was afraid that I was gonna get moved again.  I Love Mestre, the ward is....great.  And the city is really nice, and the poeple are really cold, but that is okay, the weather is finally warming up and so the poeple shoudl be too.  We actually had some success this week.  We found some families.  They seem to be really cool.  We acutally went to see a less active family and we found a person there.  They really had lost the church, because there was a lack of communication from the misskionaries to the members but now, we are back and helping them to get going in the churhc.  Their friend wants to hear the lessons and hopefully we can get her with a date here on Saturday.  THat would be really nice.  We also knocked into an awesome lady that is married to a muslim, but he was really cool and let her listen to the lesson and she took the book of mormon.  Things are looking up. I am really happy right now.  This week was a lot better than the others.  Thank goodness.  I really needed to have a little bit of success.  We will see what this next transfer brings us. There are another 31 missionaries coming into the mission.  That is unheard of.  And half of them are sisters.  I think that there are now like 66 sisters inthe mission and 10 of them are in my zone. GREAT!! The work is going to be exploding.  I hope that all of you are well.  i know its been a while since you have heard from me, at least some of you, but now I finally figured out this email thing so I can send this email to more people.  I was a little confused before, but now I am on a roll.  I miss you all and Hope that you are all doing wonderful.  VENICE IS JUST AS BEAUTIFUL AS USUAL!!  Today is a beautiful day.  Hahhaha

Love you all

April 24, 2012 Well, it's the mission

We had a really hard week this week.  I hope you all remeber the girl we were teaching, she was awesome, and we were so ready to baptize her, but her father told us that we werent allowed to see her anymore.  Just as things we looking up, we got shut down.  That was really hard.  I didnt expect it and we got really hit hard, it was hard to do missionary work, to stop people, to stop thinking about the what if we were to baptize her.  It would change her life.  Well I told my president and he said, " I dont  know her but I feel like she will join the church very soon."  That was really good to hear.  She read the entire book of mormon in 5 days.  She knows that its true.  That is really a huge miracle.  I feel good becuase we did our job.  The zone is doing really well right now.  we are looking at about 16 baptisms for MAY!!  That is going to be amazing.  I am really happy that we are going to be kiling it.  I hope that every one is doing well.  its getting warmer here and I know that there is just as good.  I wish that I could hit up the beach, but that isnt happening for a while.  I love my mission. Im exhausted if any of you were wondering.  MAN ALIVE!!  I really am having an amazing time.  My comp and I are loving eachother.  Who knew, me and an Italian...talk about luck.  I love the language.  We are just having a ton of fun together, even though the work is hard.  Keep praying for me please.  We will see miracles.  God loves us.  I promise that.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN

April 17, 2013

April 17, 2013

Hey everyone,

Another week on the job and the blessings are FINALLY arriving.  Its been a long time that we got the invite to come in and teach someone, but when we got it this week, it was from a 17 year old girl, and there was no guy in the house, so we had to turn her down and have her close the door.  Big switch in the roles for a little bit.  But we went and taught her the next day.  SHE IS AWESOME!  Cristina.  She has been struggling with her faith for a while now, and she is wanting to refind it.  So we talked about the Book of Mormon and told her that she would feel better and have more faith if she read the Book of Mormon.  We asked her to read the introduction, and we got the best answer, she said, "You know, I can read this entire book by tuesday, I love reading"  OKAY!!!  You do that.  Hhahahahah.  Well we went back two days later and she explained that she had read a lot of the book and loved the story about Lehi and his dream.  She told us PERFECTLY the entire story.  We taught her a great lesson and she accepted a baptismal date for May 11.  If her family says that is okay, it will be done.  I know that they will because they already told her, if it feels good that she should follow it.  I think that this is huge.  we havent had an investigator, but now we have one that is going to be full of referalls too.  She is awesome.

AHHH like a breath of fresh air.

We baptized on Friday.  Destiny asked me to do it like i told you all.  It went well and the pictures are there.  He was so happy to get baptized that he asked everyone to take a picture with him.  He wanted one in the font and everything, but we explained that he couldnt.  He had some major blessings promised in the confermation, so much that even a member got up during his testimony and said that it was the most powerful confermation he has ever heard.  That was good.

Monday we had an amazing mission council with Elder Allen from the Missionary Department of the church.  He is actually like the main person, the boss we will say.  He gave us so much good council. Major help.  All about repentance and how we can help the people that we teach repent better.  Because sometimes we baptize people without helping the repent, we skip that part, or we think that they did it already and we dont make sure, and within a year they are gone because the stain is still there, and they just cleaned it with water, not soap.  So that was major good help.  (that was really bad english)

I lvoe you all.  You are all amazing.  keep up the good work.  Keep being the coolpeople.  I love you all.
